                               Featuring - Greg Smith

Gregory Smith goes to all of the IICS events in the US. As Senior Vice President, Group Account Director for RPA Advertising, he supervises the Honda and Acura Advertising Camp for American Honda out of Santa Monica, CA. He also supervises the Civic Racing Style Sweepstakes. Greg resides in Malibu, CA but spent much of his childhood in and around Indianapolis. He has been an open wheel fan all of his life, as he was raised in and around the series, as his Dad was a race car owner in the 60s. Living close to the Pacific Ocean, he enjoys beach activities including volleyball and surfing with his sons Hunter, Parker and daughter Kennedy. Kennedy is also involved in horse shows, which the family supports. Greg drives an Acura 2DX.

During a typical race weekend, Greg travels on Thursday and spends Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the track. In summary Greg keeps busy as his duties include the “Fastest Seat In Sports” contest program which gets a fan in a two seater with a retired driver to start various IndyCar events. In his own words, he performs “plate spinning” in coordinating partners in promotions with Honda, IZOD and the IndyCar Series. He also works with Macy’s Department Stores in positioning a car in the store and answering questions regarding the Honda Civic model.

When you walk through the Fan Village at any IndyCar event, the Honda exhibit is another responsibility of Greg’s. He reports the display has been a very successful promotion for Honda. Greg is always present before a fan takes the ride of their life in the two seater race car operated by the Indy Racing Experience before a race to make sure all goes well. You won’t find a more gracious person involved in this series and truly exercises the Ernest Hemingway motto of ‘grace under pressure.’
